I was wasting some time on Auto Trader and other sites last night and flicked through the listings of the sort of cars that interest me. Its something I seem to do on an occasional basis but I do therefore have an idea in my mind of what I am comparing todays market with. And the difference is quite surprising. Whereas there might have been one or three low mileage manual gearbox Ferrari Spiders on offer last year, there now are double figures. And the startling thing is how many of the cars on offer are very low mileage indeed, cars that obviously have been bought as an "investment" and never used. Many are the halo models where the factory remove things like carpets and sound deadening and charge more for the "hard core" image.

I looked at other makes and the picture is similar, plus prices falling quite a bit. You can get a decent Ferrari with a good record for £50k. A much younger McLaren is maybe £60 or £70 asking. Astons cheaper still. And who wouldnt like a 5 litre V8 F type Jag for £35k.

What are the real world prices of Morgans like?

I sometime wonder what the market is for 6 figure Morgans with many of them being for sale for what appears to be years. Though I did see that Oakmere sold an Aeromax a few days ago.

That Max was a sensational colour it was all over FB Morgan sites yesterday. I'm only going to say this once being a dyed in the wool tradman - this is the sexiest looking car ever in that colour.

Sorry I don't know Robbie, I'll look on Oakmere site to see if it's still on there.

It just says Green so not very helpful sorry.

Found it at the bottom of the page "Finished In Aston Martin Chiltern Green Metallic"

p.s. Sorry Les you found it whilst I was looking around.

The Aeromax above was priced at £129,995, no idea what they actually got for it.

Thats the trouble - you never know what the realised price is. Could be way lower or the old principle of the greater fool could apply.

The price will be forgotten long before he is tired of the car. Just look at that grin. Whatever that gentleman paid, he regards it as worth it and that's what counts.
