Good day All,

Hoping someone can clarify something for me. MMC show the Brooklands Wheel complete with the boss and QR. They also call out that it includes the boss but fail to call out if it truly includes the QR. So, has anyone recently purchased this wheel who can confirm what specifically is included?

Additionally, is the QR a common part in that I could take my steering wheel and simply slide it onto another M3W? I'm sorting out a few things on my yet delivered M3W and getting some conflicting and might I say confusing info from different parties.

Many thanks,
P

Confusing it is because there are two types of QR used on the M3W with differing key ways also there are different sizes of QR in general circulation so check the build date Planenut and the MTWC alternative parts list on the club web page may help too - You’ll need to check parts with Morgan themselves on what comes supplied with the wheel for your year as the early Brooklands Wheel cars steering wheel has four bolts that fits into a three bolt adaptor then onto the three bolt QR. I believe this is a four bolt on the QR for later cars.

Confusion reigns

Thanks for the feedback Mark. Yes, confusing. I understand there are different QR. My main query is if the QR comes with the ordered wheel or not. This is what I can't seem to get a straight answer on.

The new Brooklands wheel should come complete with a new QR and it should be a Traven type QR for your new build car, not the earlier and more reliable Lifeline QR. It probably will be interchangeable with another Traven equipped car. I expect you are aware of the problems with the Traven QR but if not please read this. https://www.mtwc.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/QR-Steering-Wheel-Problems.pdf
