I have a 1980 +4 that has relatively new door handles fitted, however when I purchased the car there were no keys for the door locks. I have removed the handles and the cylinder barrels but can't find any numbers that would relate to a key other than 95H stamped at the bottom of the spindle hole.

Does anyone know if that's a number that I could get a key made from, or if there is a supplier of new cylinder barrels? I have enquired online but no luck from locksmiths for the keys. A new pair of handles in about £100 plus P&P!

They may well be the same barrels as classic Minis, try MiniSpares & MiniSport

Just questioning why you would want to lock the doors, when the windows can easily be slid open. Worse still, access can be gained with a quick (and expensive to repair) slash across the hood with a box cutter. That’s why I never bother to lock the Morgan but make sure that there’s nothing of great value worth pinching inside.
Don’t think I am alone in my thinking on this one?
(Sorry not to have answered your original question though.)

If I were you I'd just reach inside through the sliding window and flick the lock up if you feel you need to.
I never lock mine or leave anything of value inside the car, this way you minimise any damage if they really want to get inside sixteen years of ownership tells me they won't violate a Morgan.

If you need lockable barrels Jon's suggestion sounds good.

Incase you join a group of Morganeers and meet up I would be inclined to try a few of their keys, on my 4/4 Sport I met up with a pal with a similar car and all but the ignition key were common !

Some keymakers made keys without a key! They can do it only with the barrel.

In my hometown there is such a team keymakers.

And: to undo the barrels you need the key. Or you must drill them out. On the (classic) MINI the number is stamped on the
barrel.

I wouldn't bother. My first Mog didn't even have door handles.

Been mentioned before, but how do the insurance companies respond to an unlocked car, in the event of a claim?

Needlesss to say I have not locked the car to date, but I thought it would be good to have the locks lockable. The concensus is to not bother as the windows can easily be opened and the door unlocked anyway, so I'll probably just leave things as they are and turn my attention to other jobs on the car.

Thanks to all for your input.
