As some may know, my lovely 4/4 80th Anniversary is up for sale... has been with MR for the last 3 weeks now... https://morgan-motors-cars.com/cars/2016-morgan-4-4-80th-anniversary-just-arrived/Not a single enquiry... I guess I have got used to putting a car up for sale (Lotus experience over 6 cars) and having them sold within days... But somehow, Morgans seem to 'sit' for months and months. Question. Is this a: price related, ie: too high? b: small market c: Both! I would like to get my 4/4 sold... I bought it for £ almost what I am asking MR to sell it for, ie; I will get less back. Despite spending an additional 4.5k on nice additions such as Panhard Rod, Williams header tank and intake, Williams ECU upgrade, paint correction and ceramic coating, as well as Si-Fab radiator and Lucas 'period' headlights! So! Is it a price drop situation? Or just the market for 4/4's? Not being 'conceited', but my car is probably one of the the nicest 4/4 on the market right now. It's better than new :>) So, what gives? Interested in thoughts! Cheers, Pete.

I would think it is more the uncertain times over here at the moment, there have been thousands of redundancies and lots more to come.
As you know these are only toys albeit priceless in their delivery of therapy so will be amongst the first things to feel the pinch, I think the price reflects real value with the work you have had done to the car so summing up it's a question of hanging on for a bit having a limited edition will always attract the real enthusiast and it's a stunner.

It is a nice car. As Richard says times are worrying here and maybe for now the market isn't there.

The price looks sensible. Some Morgans sell quickly (mostly sub £25k) but others hang around for several months. Richard's points are valid re uncertainty. However, I have seen a few cars sell recently at Allon-White so it is a question of waiting for the right person to come along. Morgans are more often bought with retirement lump sums than a lot of other cars so the wave of redundancies could work in your favour once a few people start seeing early retirement plans come to fruition on the back of redundancy.

Interesting feedback guys... thanks.
Here in Oz, things are (thankfully) very different... cars are selling quickly, pretty much at pre-Covid levels... So I don't have 'feet on the ground' in the UK...
Really hope we can all get through this utter BS of a virus/situation... so much has changed in such a short period of time. And yes, these are indeed 'toys'... how lucky we are to be able to enjoy them. At least that 'bit of life' cannot be taken away from our choices.
Hang in there one and all... keep safe ok.

Pete, to give you an idea . In June new car sales were at 35% of last year.

Over here you rarely get back the investment in upgrades they may make the car more desirable compared to others but not necessarily increase the value unless the car is special in some way.

What a beauty!...I don't know the market over there (or the car buying culture).. but it is not uncommon for a nice, but pricy, Morgan to wait for just the right buyer to come along.
If it is still looking for a new home at the end of the year....add $10,000 USD...ship it here and it will sell quick.

I agree that you are unlikely to see the return on extras but it should increase desirability. Looking at the ad, seems they quote two different mileages, 243 miles apart, not that it matters that much.
