Looking forward travelling Britain with a friend I'm hanging around and wait to start the engine... And think about places to go.
And clear - We 're staying a few days in Great Malvern.

When I rember right there was a nice article about "must be places for Morganeers" in the MOG or Miscellany Magazin last year as a round-trip yourney. But looking in all my collected magazines I can't find it. :-(

So I hope that someone here knows which magazine, so I can look if just this magazine has gone or find the article.

Thank you for the help!

René

If you look on the Mog mag website there is a list of places to stay. http://www.mogmag.co.uk/where-to-stay/

I used to live in Malvern and many of the hotels on that list must be new-is , as I don't know them.

My fallback is always The Cottage in the Wood in Malvern Wells , good food , comfortable rooms and great views across the Vale of Severn.

Oh, I see I used the wrong words. B&B is booked.

There was story of interesting places in the Morgan history and an idea of a roundtrip to visit them.

I'd suggest a trip to Historic Worcester - Cathedral, Commandery (Civil War) and Porcelain Museum are all within a spit of each other. Get a good cup of tea and food at Charlies, and pop in to see my mate Cookie for a tattoo. smile

For Morgan history, you should include a trip to Stoke Lacy.

The answer I gave last time:

A drive around the hills on the A449/B4242 is de rigueur. Take in Elgar's grave at St. Wulstan's Church and, if you're a crossword fan, Roget is buried in St James's Church.

Croome Court is very good: one of Capability Brown's best landscapes. I also like the ruin at Witley Court as visited by Bob Dylan in the sixties.

The Victorian glass in Malvern Priory by the Camm brothers is excellent. The modern stuff is rubbish though.

If you can get in, the frescoes in St Leonard's Church Newland are spectacular. Madresfield Court nearby was the model for Brideshead in Waugh's Bridehead Revisited.

Drive over the hills to visit picturesque Ledbury in Herefordshire, find and try some of the local hard cider, and walk in the hills. The hills are easily accessible but can be a stiff climb but once you are up you can walk along them. The iron age hillfort on the Herefordshire Beacon, British Camp, is worth visiting for itself and for the view.
And of course there is the Morgan Works if they are open.
