Staying near Belper Derbyshire last week and walking in scenic ‘Shining Cliff Woods’ by the Derwent, came across a huge disused former wire factory where you wouldn’t expect an industrial unit although a small part of the site is now a distillery.

Wondering when it closed, I googled it’s history and found that it is proposed to convert it to a Classic car museum - worth watching to see if it happens.

No, it was cancelled a while ago. The place was flooded, iirc, one of the directors died, and a major funder withdrew, so it was a non-starter

That's a shame, the write up in Octane Mag last year showing the proposals looked good

Donmog was booked in to go next Tuesday - but they folded in the latter part of last year due to a series of problems. It was a shame because it looked such a good idea and would have brought some much-needed revenue into the area. In various emails with the management there they seemed such genuinely helpful and enthusiastic people.

Yeah but other than that there is still a chance?

If a new backer and new team comes forward, then it is a possibility, but unlikely. IMHO.
