my car club is planning a 3 day group tour based round a hotel near Gargrave. I need to start checking on possible visits / dayt out during our stay and maybe a decent run out for a bunch of geriatrics in old sports cars. Bearing in mind the weather risk, attractions both indoor and outdoor are neede plus luncj stops.

all ideas welcome, even some Nat Trust Garden viasits for the ladies.

Howard, the Ginetta factory is up that way, visited perhaps 7 or 8 years ago with a Mog group & very welcoming

Richmond is worth a visit .... short walk along the river with impressive cataract (if the river's got decent flow) .... cut up to the castle and through to the square .... cafes and small shops

If your planning a visit to any National Trust, which now are opening up,
don't forget you need to book a ticket on a Friday the week before the visit

This is a cracking visit, sadly cancelled this year, but worth
keeping in mind for the future, they dance in the streets all weekend long.

Also done this a few times a great afternoon, head for Goathland plenty of free parking
then travel on the Train Goathland to Pickering to Goathland ( not the other way around)
as Pickering is nightmare for parking.

As I have discovered, if there are still places available at an NT site, it is possible to book after the Friday that bookings open, during the following week...

The train is excellent fun. There are good fish & chips and several fleamarkets / antique shops in Pickering. Agree on starting in Goatland.

As this is one of our favourite touring areas can recommend all of above. The Bull Inn at West Tanfield (between Ripon and Masham) would make an excellent lunch stop. Stayed a few nights here.

What a good idea!

Am toying with the idea of leading them across the border into bandit country. Is there anything in Lancashire worth visiting? Someone suggested the Leyland Museum.
