Hello Friends, Should I or not? that is the question …or should I say …that WAS the question? Well… I decided to „bite in the sour apple“ (as we say in Luxembourg) and made a call to my garage That was some 2 or 3 weeks ago. And yesterday… I know, (and you know too ) one must be at least a bit to spend such an amount on a bit of stainless steel. But what a sound… Never expected that. Not one the videos on YouTube gives justice to the real thing. I‘m absolutely enthusiastic Sunny greetings from Luxembourg

Congratulations Ivo I have the dual Librands Sport exhaust on mine and it's a glorious sound and I know you will enjoy it to the full, well worth every penny I was lucky the previous owner had it fitted from new in 1999 for the grand sum of £1,445.00 and it's still perfect 21 years on and can wake Grannies up with the loud pedal fully applied and pops and bangs nicely at around 1,500rpm on overrun There is a little bit of the hooligan in all of us I have had many favourable comments on the sound and quite often from ladies.

When I was in the shop the last time (ignition problems, you may remember - solved now) we been chatting about sound improvements. That moment we also discussed the Librand system, including their collectors. When ordering, I assumed, that it is understood, that I wolud like to have those as well. To my disappointment, I learned, that they just ordered the portion „after“ the cat. But, fortunately, the disappointment did just last until the moment, when I turned the key. I‘m very happy with the result and may or may not change the collectors some time later.

Recently I had the librands noisier system fitted to my plus 8 4.6.
Much better but still not loud enough for me.
Do next step was headers and cat delete and now it sound fooooking awesome. So angry.
But I did have some fatter 3” tailpipes made which amazingly changed the tone again. Made it deeper and more crackles on over run

I have some odd librands exhaust manifold the cross under the sump. Mine also has side exit exhausts exiting just in front of the rear wheels.
The noise is sublime, like an old fighter plane upto about 3000rpm, then it’s just like an angry 20 foot wasp!
Ps how do folks manage removing the cats come mot time?

Yeah, really enjoying it. The sound of an old airplane describes it perfectly. What I absolutely love, is like I can control the „music“ with my right foot. Open the throttle a bit: wow, …push the pedal against the floor: woooooooww.
I also have the impression, that there is more power. The car seems to “pull“ better. Can that be?

The tubular manifolds will release a lot more power as well as sound.
Like Rich I had mine down about 18 years ago when the prices were somewhat lower.
Mine is the "crossover" system where the secondary pipes go under the sump. This gives good length on the secondaries , but it does mean that the sump oil gets pretty hot. The newer unit have a modified design where the each bank goes down the same side of the car. If I had unlimited resources I would switch to the new system tomorrow.
There are a couple of watch points
A The brake fluid reservoir needs heat protection from the number bank primary on the right side.
B If you do have the crossover system like mine , then you must switch over the lamda sensors, or they will be reading from the wrong bank of cylinders.
