Hi to all. Hope alls well. Ive got a Morgan 3 wheeler & im having a couple of issues. The first is im getting a knocking from rear wheel whilst on the move but does'nt do it with rear end in air i know this because ive taken the boot, tray & mudguard off & got a friend to kneel on passenger seat & lean over whilst on the move & determine where the noise is coming from & we will only really know if we take the rear wheel off. Reason im asking is has anybody had similar circumstances. The other problem is the indicator has stopped working & needs replacing,(ide like to take it apart because its got something loose inside) how do i get the wiring out of the connector because it needs to pass through the loom sleeve, bracket & light surround.

You might get more replies if you post this in the Three Wheeler section Phil, rather than the Welcome Forum smile smile

My guess would be a loose drive belt.

As Graham says, try posting this in the Three wheeler Section.

You need more information about the rear wheel knocking, is it a constant, steady knocking or random with bumps? Transmission/gear related, wheel bearings or drive belt type noise? Has your indicator stopped working because of a fault with the stalk or the electrics? The indicator stalk is a Morgan only bit and not easy to repair. They are not too wildly priced from MMC.

I had 2 times before an knocking on an wheel an it was a bubbel on the tyre ( delamination)and the second time an pice of metal in the tyre. Find it by turning the wheel slowly with my hand on it.

Im new to using the forum & hopeless at using a computer. Thanks for all replies, ive looked closer into the rear wheel by taking it off but could`nt find anything, the bearing was fine, the drive belt looked ok, the tyre is good. I can spin it freely off the ground & there`s nothing & only does it under load at slow speed in either a straight line or turning left, not right & not all the time & its definitely a metallic sound. It was in at Beamish Morgan a couple of weeks ago for a service & brake peddle (recall) change & i told them about it then & they said it was a shock bush which is worn & does need replacing, which is on order with replacemment l,e,d indicator which rattles once its out of the cover & at £60 plus vat, But the wheel noise is more than the shock bush, its a proper knock

As others have said, you will get more assistance if you post your problem on the Three Wheeler forum.

Hello Phil

Welcome to the forum, and as others have said you'll probably find someone on the 3W section who will recognise your problem immediately.

However, just as an exercise could you advise a bit more info. Does it knock:

- when you first start off?
- when you accelerate?
- when you ease off?
- when you brake?
- when you go round corners (left or right)?
- when you go over bumps?

Only had an old 3W (1934) so suspect I won't be able to help but you never know.

Enjoy your new acquisition and I'm sure teething problems will be solved quickly.

Cheers

Philip
