While out doing my essential national duty, journeying from Croston to Barrowford, an essential round trip of just 80 miles to help the economy during these turbulent times and engaging in the national ‘Eat Out to Help Out’ civic duty with my Morgan and family. I passed three lone Morgans, being driven on minor rural A roads, not major trunk roads.

From the frivolous and cheery waves that were exchanged as we passed, it was clear that these Morgans were being used for non essential journeys and were being driven purely for self indulgent purposes and joy riding to take advantage of the fine weather and exploiting a Bank Holiday Monday which should be a day of quiet contemplative charity

Forcing myself to drive such a distance to eat a rump steak in the national interest at a hostelry in Fence was no pleasure at all and only made my seeing purely selfish pleasure seeking fellow Morgan owners even more galling

(I do t want to go into detail as to my charitable exploits for reasons of humility)

Whoever you are, you are lucky that, because of the bright sun, I couldn’t quite make out the exact colour and registrations of those Morgans that bring our fellowship into such disrepute, otherwise I would be reporting this flagrant breech of the spirit of national unity to the relevant authorities

You have been warned

Grinning !!!

Driving a Morgan??!!

At this time of national exigency!!

Should be grimacing under the toil of symbolic self flagellation and pain of duty

Well I am off to chilly Jocko Land on Saturday and spending a couple of days in the Lakes on the way.

I am in the Morgan and will be grinning like a demented thing at every opportunity and I don’t care. Going with a couple of Morgan pals and we shall be lobbying hard for the Scots to introduce the food subsidy by consuming as many pies as possible (other foods may be substituted).

We shall follow all health guidelines and ensure we alcohol flush with as much Glengoyne as flesh and blood can stand (allowing for driving of course).

Roll on Saturday, it’s been a long wait.

Thanks John, we plan a relaxed driving not visiting break as I should keep away from crowds and gatherings but consultant laughed and said ‘you go for it, just wish I was going as well’.

A few glasses of single malt will make a nice change.

Have a great trip Colin.

Stewart - I understand your frustration. Fortunately, we have hidden our Morgan in the yard at a self catering cottage where nobody can suspect us of frivolity.
We will make sure we don’t enjoy any of our drives out or our return journey on Friday.
