I don't need dem pesky buttons.

New MB S Class released today.
More screens
Less buttons on the dash.

It is now confirmed that there are more buttons on the steering wheel than on the dashboard!

Just time to burn a little more petrol before dinner.

Beam me up Scotty!!
Perhaps they are to give the driver something to play with whilst the car drives itself.

It's not very appealing is it and these things will be a nightmare in 10 years time with all the electronics, the Aero's are bad enough already from what I read and the Trads with the dashboard circuit boards and the later are very agricultural.

Did I really count 17 switches on that steering wheel grin2

You are right: Buttons on a steering wheel are fun - especially if you turn the steering wheel...

But who does?....

I have a Merc E300 cabriolet as a loan car at the moment. It similarly has all screens etc. It is a fiddly nightmare. My C220 CDI estate never had all this space tech. As said more to go wrong.

Just like microwave ovens. Ours has just gone faulty and nearly all of the need a degree in programming. Finally manage to find one with 2 rotary knobs, poet and timer.

How do you look at the screen and still look at the road? All I want do is get from A to B safely and by my own involvement and skill.

Speaking of the S-Class, here it is perhaps irrelevant how much electronics are there, or how few buttons...as long as you have managed, in your life, to always sit in the back.
