If you remember Grumpy2's challenges with his panhard rod (http://www.talkmorgan.com/ubbthreads.php/topics/649543/1) I now have the solution and a little bit of info for anyone who might have been put off by the thread.

I bought the rod and when I came to fit it I couldn't understand why the pivot was at the 'wrong' end of the cross member according to the Mulfab instructions. No matter, it still fitted and a helpful conversation with Mulfab revealed that it was an older model made for racers. Although it didn't matter on road cars the mounting was handed to help with dominant bends on race circuits.

To keep this short, I successfully fitted it to our 2004 Roadster with four-leaf springs and it works a treat. Just driving down the lane which serves our home showed that it was worthwhile.

Although my competition career came to an end when I crashed our 4/4 on the way to take part in a hill climb I guess the fitting of the panhard rod means I'm still a racer.

What a load of tosh
When I worked for Mulfab, we made Panhard rod kits in two different widths, along with left and right handed versions depending on model, and also a “raised” pivot kit to clear the fuel lines on the cars with the external injection pump behind the drivers (RHD) seat
We simplified the kits to be narrow and the wide, along with standardising the pivot on the offside (behind the driver on RHD cars)
I fabricated literally hundreds of kits in the 6 years I was there and we never made one “specifically” for racing

Thanks for your input but please, please don't shoot the messenger. I was only reporting what was said to me.

I would also say that effectively bad-mouthing a competitor is not the way to endear yourself to the TM community and inappropriate on TM.

For this reason I am asking the moderator to remove this exchange.

Whatever the back-story, I'm very happy with my Mulfab Panhard rod.
