...in a nice colour. So it is forgivable that she borrowed the Morgan CX alloy wheels.

It’s funny looking back, that at the time many Ferrari cognoscenti dismissed the Dino as not being a “real” Ferrari, indeed, at the outset it didn’t even wear the prancing horse logo. Look at how highly regarded it is now.

The 246 Dino always been one of my favourites; petite and perfectly resolved, it’s a gorgeous thing.

Always one of my favourites, I often think it inspired the Alpine 310.

The earlier 206 and it's FIAT cousin were pure style.

Just time to burn a little more petrol before dinner.

The first time I saw one was in Houston, Texas in 1973. It was parked in the staff carpark at the Baylor Hospital where Dr Denton Cooley conducted the first heart transplant in 1968.
I was told the car belonged to either Cooley or DeBakey, the inventor of the artificial heart.

As far as I was concerned it was love at first sight, a beautiful little proper car amongst all the 1970s American domestic stuff.

It is sad that the car in the advertisement has been used so little.

Looks an honest car and description including mentioning a dent on the passenger door. But the suspension bushes are all perished so there's a lot more to spend on top of the $385,000...... assuming you want to drive the car.
