Looks worth watching. Followed at 2200 by a repeat of Guy Martin's Spitfire.

there's this too, which tells the story of, um, distributed production around Wessex, after the Southampton factories were bombed https://www.secretspitfires.com/

For everyone interested in owning a Spitfire, check this business out....

https://gbreplicas.com/

we have one on loan at the Museum....

https://www.edp24.co.uk/news/spitfire-replica-made-in-norfolk-for-memorial-1-6780099

It is stunningly realistic. Viewed from a few meters away 99% of people would think it real.

If you feel like one in your garden they cost a bit less than a new PlusSix...

I understand in the 60's and maybe 70's the real thing mothballed stoud at the entrance of many RAF bases. With the increased viability and demand for rebuild projects they were gradually swapped out with these realistic replica's.

Given a restoration case is worth £500k and a fully restored on about £2.5m it is no surprise that there is a business supplying replica aircraft!

This one always catches me out in a nice way when we visit our son and his girlfriend near Newquay, it's beautifully crafted.

It's the same mark and with clipped wings that my late father flew and of course with the Polish squadron on the cowling, which is too far forward wink
