Afternoon John.

1. it recommends changing to clear lens because of the light spectum.
2. I thought there was an issue with just replacing an H4 bulb with an H4 LED, because of the the source of the light in the LED is larger than standard bulb. (Edit - answered my own question by looking closely at the website). I'm very interested in getting these.

John - were they simple to fit?

No according to the supplier or other people. You can twist the LED headlight bulb in its holder to get the right pattern.

Richard no I'm staying with the standard lens on the stop tail. As LEDs give a whiter light it is recommended to use coloured bulbs.

Steve,
they were dead easy to fit. Headlight LEDs have a heat sink which is why I chose the ones I did. The more powerful have a sort of box that I couldn't see fitting in the headlight bowl.
The worst bit is that the ring that holds the headlight in is very sharp & I got a paper cut.

Yes I read something similar on their website, but it relates to using white LED's with coloured lens. I was proposing your red LED's with a clear lens so their warning doesn't apply. Now you have them fitted do you think a clear lens may be viable as I'm tempted?

John

Looks like some good work there, your result with the pilot light LED inside the headlight bowl is much the same as mine, a marked difference and I tend to drive with them on a lot of the time now.

I would be very interested to hear about your views of the headlight conversion as soon as you are able to do any night driving, compared to the standard halogens. The MoT beam testing would also be interesting to hear about, but presumable that won't take place until the test comes around.

If they are good , a price of £55 is much better than the ones I found at £130.
