It looks the same as the trad heater box. If it is there should be a pipe either side near the bulkhead. On older cars MMC piped that through the firewall. Now they just drain in to footwell. I would fit a cover if it sits outside. Famous other leak points are the wiper arm bevel box seal to the bulk head which new seals and a smear of silicone can help & the to screws that hold on the bonnet hinge which can be filled with silicone sealant.

Typical Aero driver throwing coin of the realm around willy-nilly . If my memory serves me correctly Neil may have had a Kiwi/ Aussie accent Simon, having lived in both places.

Thx chaps. Yes all over the picture posting now, so easy, not sure what everyone is honking about. Not sure the sponge on top of the heater was ever meant to stop anything but leaves and debris but there absolutely MUST be drainage pipes somewhere. I’ll have to investigate. Good idea to get a bigger cover to extend over the vents. I can see water is also dripping down from the bolts that secure the heater on bulkhead too. I had all the leaks on my Trad through wiper spindles etc and now remedied. I’ve switched garage space and put the trad outside (more weatherproof ) and are inside. Later I’ll unscrew the 2469 little screws and remover the black dash undertray.

The sponge on the heater air intake on my trad Plus8 perished. It was an air fliter to stop debris going in but a couple of leaves were in there! I replaced it with fish tank filter mesh/foam. Large open cell about 10mm thick. No problems with any water after a few years in situ.

I think it was at the Mog at Buxton that one of the entries in the innovations was a Morgan with a basin drain and plug fitted in each of the footwells.

Water is coming in through the gasket between heater box and bulkhead ffs.
For me that is a major job. Not one I’m prepared to do.
PITA as I really didn’t want another dry weather car
