That's a very interesting question... and while I've the switches rather than the Parrot setup, I'm visiting a car hifi specialist on Friday and could ask them.
Is the the Asteroid Smart? A quick google suggests there was a planned update in 2015 that would support Apple Carplay, but it was never released. & there's barely any search results for updates since 2015.
I don't remember, is it *just* infotainment, or does it also control car functions?

Hi Thanks for your offer to speak to your hiring specialist. parrot no longer make this type of equipment and have left the market hence no updates for a number of years. The unit used to be smart but Parrot have now shut the app shop so no new applications or updates for existing app are possible. The system is just infotainment and has no interface with the car systems. And there is no longer(as far as I can see) any way of updating sat nav maps, get traffic information, speed camera alerts or even search by full postcode The Flitting - the system is quite literally dead as a parrot 😊 The best I've managed is to pair my phone with the Parrot system and make and receive phone calls and listen to music (from apps on my phone) but I have no sat nav until I plug in my stand alone Garmin sat nav system and stick it on the face of the Parrot. Last year I visited a local in car entertainment installer to see if I could replace the Parrot, but from what I was being offered I would still have needed to pair my phone to a new system to get full functionality especially for the sat nav which would have adopted google maps as I'm with Android... this wasn't enough to swing it for me... and so I continue to enjoy the noise of the pipes and the Garmin gets me to where I need to get to... regards Will

aha I think the the Parrot is a double din size - so those Peter suggests, or others, would likely fit fine. Specs here https://www.cnet.com/products/parrot-asteroid-smart/specs/I guess the unusual ask of fitting to an Aero is how bright the screen is, and how reflective its surface.

I have a Sony XAV-AX100 installed in my S5. It fits perfectly and has Apple CarPlay. https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/in-car-receivers-players/xav-ax100The installation was done by Krazy Horse in Bury St Edmunds when I bought the car earlier this year. They have fitted this to several cars now and it looks like it was there from day 1. The only feature missing is DAB but with CarPlay I can stream any radio stations I want to listen to. The Sony microphone is installed on the steering wheel cowl. I cut down the foot with a Dremel so it would fit into the gap where one of the screws holding the cowl is located to hide it as much as possible. I am now contemplating one of the aftermarket wireless CarPlay adaptors to save me plugging it in every time I get in the car.
