At work I would have two or three cappuccinos a day, often with a muffin or sourdough toast.
When I retired, coffee became a mini social event in the city, where I took a late breakfast with sourdough toast, and read The Times. Yeah!
My last cappuccino was February. The coffee shop has changed hands. I can't be arsed to mess about at home, and when I've tried home coffee out, it's been underwhelming. For me coffee is much more than a simple drink. I like coffee shops.
So until I get my vaccine, I'll do without.

I have one of these... Nespresso LattissimaIt does really good foamed milk. I'd wondered why, but we have a water softener, so the water is clean and ph 7.2, this may well help. I like the variety of coffees offered. All the capsules are recycled. Peter's comments are accurate, although much aluminium is already recycled, so the by-products of aluminium extraction are somewhat overstated. Furans are best avoided, but for some processes, unavoidable. It has been classified as a nongenotoxic carcinogen. Furan is thought to be activated to a reactive intermediate, cis-2-butene-1,4-dial that alkylates proteins leading to a toxic response. The resulting chronic toxicity stimulates cell replication, which increases the likelihood of tumor production..perhaps.

The last time this thread was active, back in spring 2019, I reported that I had recently bought a Smeg espresso machine to go with my Kitchen Aid grinder. 18 months on, and they are still going strong making ace coffee.

I love my coffee and have quite a collection of coffee machines and apparatus ..but the one I use most is a French (Italian?) Press bought on Como market for 6 euros 8 years ago!!
I grind my coffee with a wall mounted ceramic Dutch grinder from the 1960's despite having electric devises.
And remember you should NEVER wash or clean the inside of a French Press whether aluminium or stainless..over time the flavour build up.

The one in the background looks er nice!!!! ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2020/11/24/2DE336F5-1A80-4159-9FAE-2D963B0D6890.jpg) Indestructible French Press and a hand crank grinder and a backpack stove and you have coffee on the go. Fits in the boot of my MOG and rest stops become more enjoyable. Also used it in my kayaks.

Trusty Lavazza Modo Mio Pod machine failed after quite a few years so replaced it with a DeLonghi Magnifico bean to cup machine.
Great coffee but after two weeks it looks like it is broke.
Empty granules container light is on permanent despite container cleaned and replaced.
Noticed from new when looking at instructions that infuser appeared jammed - just spent ages trying to remove and it appears well and truly stuck..
Two problems might be linked - ringing customer support tomorrow.
Looks like there are Youtube videos on sensor light problems and stuck infusers.

I feel for you Clipper
The older I get the less tolerant I am of things not working, it drives me mad
And without coffee in a morning!
Get yourself a stainless steel stove top (don’t like the aluminium ones) and a Zassenhaus hand grinder to put you on until it’s fixed
