Just a little advance warning if any of you boys and girls are travelling down our way this Christmas or anytime really we have some outstanding revenue collectors it would seem. Camera hit sights..

The mobile ones are more a risk here. They have been resurfacing at night the A14 near where I live. They leave the speed limits up during the day typically 50 or 40 mph but with a clear dual carriageway. As soon as you slow down the lorries start flashing you & practically pushing you along.
However the local police have set up mobile cameras and must be raking it in.

That sounds damn dangerous John particularly in the Morgan.

I wish they would bring some cameras here - a 30mph road nearby is like the Donington start/finish straight at weekends - especially the boy racers with baked bean cans on their tailpipes who race round the roundabouts at each end and then down the straight in between. A straight road but in a built-up area.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that the Thinkware dashcam I've added to my tin top announces speed traps, cameras and even traffic light cameras. Along with the Snooper which picks up radar (& has a bigger range than police radar ;-) ) I'm reasonably well-protected.

Sadly the Thinkware camera is a bit bulky to add to the Aero, so I'll fit an Innov K2 bike camera, and keep using the Snooper

It is entertaining. The lorry drives are 4 miles from the docks & presumably tired. They brake fast enough though when they see the old speed vans.

Use Waze on your mobile. Especially useful for the mobile cameras/vans. Unless you are really unlucky and the first to encounter someone else will have flagged the camera location already.

I can second Richard’s warning and extend it to East Devon and West Dorset.
Both Devon & Cornwall and Dorset Constabulary are very keen,
Mobile vans are common, as well as a range of unmarked cars.
There are one or two particularly favourite spots. eg A35 westbound on the hill out of Chideock.
This is a steep uphill section, which opens into two lanes, allowing a safe overtake of any slow moving trucks.
The problem is that it remains a 30 mph limit nearly to the top,

Interesting, I have the Waze app on my mobile but usually default to a proper TomTom which have become top heavy with features & complex menus
