I see Ryanair have just increased their order by 75 taking it to above 200 aircraft. O’Leary says it’s a “wonderful” aircraft which I guess is code for “cheap”. I fly Ryanair a fair bit but can’t say I’m comfortable taking my family onto a product of a broken quality system.

With all the scrutiny, publicity and possible lawsuits its probably now one of the safest aircraft out there.

You may be right.... but it started off as an aircraft fitted with engines that are too big for its frame requiring a computer to compensate for instability.. the rest is history. I guess it was always going to happen that O’Leary would seize on the price point.

I know someone in California who was full time on the image problems of this plane before covid hit. Then it dropped down the list.

Right now it's all about freight logistics.

I saw a brief news report about the aircraft coming back.
What fix has been applied?
Engines adjusted to rebalance?
Extra failsafe duplicated systems?
Extra pilot training?
I assume the safety testing has been thorough but public confidence will be tested. Maybe some publicity about the plane could be put out giving clear, factual information. Not from Boeing but from official sources with high CAA input.

It's something of a moot point at the moment, as we don't seem to be allowed to fly anywhere.....

Wouldnt think twice about it. Likely to be the safest craft in the air after the work that has gone into it. Boeing cant afford to fail or they will be boeing bong.

Precisely, great cover for a controversial move, but come the middle of next year there they’ll be on the tarmac.

I would assume if the pilot was prepared to get in the thing and fly it, then I should too! But no plans to for the next 18 months frown
