Our local classic car restorer Mal, the one who helped me strip and re-spray my Land Rover, acquired a 2CV van last year for nothing. It had been abandoned in a nearby pub car park after breaking down, and after several weeks a salvage company was contacted. Mal heard about this and a deal made with the owner that if he could remove it before lunch the following day it was his.

A full strip, some minor welding and a re-wire ensued revealing an otherwise mechanically sound vehicle. As it was so good Mal was encouraged to spend extra time on it and a full re-spray ensued. Apparently the vans attract higher prices now than the cars.

Great to see you bought a "shed" , you are going to have a lot of fun with that, I have a lot of love for the 2CV having done many miles in an Ami 8 with identical running gear.

Amazing, if it's using a Suzuki engine then I think the whole donor bike weights in around 230kg. Almost looks as though there are no front brakes or very small rotors. Was it successful?

Now I am very afraid.
