For all who drive on the "wrong" side :

For 75 years there was no two-wheel drive for Ural motorcycles with the sidecar mounted on the left. But now ...

It looks a sufficient little run about, love the extra driven wheel. Is that the Aussie Santa riding it?

No but I believe that beards and pot bellies are de rigeur for people riding that sort of outfit. Just like Harleys for that matter.

Loved my Ural..

Even got String out in it once, albeit with a firm hand on his collar from the passenger. A two wheel drive set up will sell like hot cakes in Aus I would imagine.

I rember what happens 35 years ago!

Until I was 30 years old, I only owned several solo motorbikes (road and motocross) at the same time but no car.

Even then, motorbikes with sidecars were extremely rare to see and therefore very fascinating for an enthusiastic motorcyclist like me!

One day, an acquaintance of a work colleague told me that he had been able to buy a cheap BMW R90. The bike had only one disadvantage, it had a sidecar mounted and since it was from England, the sidecar would be on the left.
He would remove the sidecar immediately, as he had bought everything because of the BMW.
I got all nervous and 20 minutes later I was driving through the snow with the bike and its owner - it was the end of December!

After 30 minutes, the owner didn't want to ride anymore. He said: Let me get off and go on alone. That's what I did for 2 hours! snowlaugh

A short time later I bought a MZ with a sidecar - my third bike at the same time.

Mrs Image's brother had an old British big single with a sidecar ... coming home one night on a wet Welsh back road he overcooked a bend and ran it into a ditch ..... flew over the handlebars and while laying in the mud heard it chug up out of the ditch behind him and run him over .... unhurt fortunately ... other than his pride smile

The Panthers were often combinied with the gigantic Busmar sidecars:

You could transport your whole family with them...
