So I’d already stripped all the internals giving me access but it took a leisurely 6 house (inc lunch) to get all the panels and fittings off the body.

Incredibly easy I have to say

Looks well sad with its clothes off in much the same way as me I guess.

One thing that is especially bonkers are the gaps in the rear splash panels that let crap into the rear wings beside to boot.

In shot 3 (the Psngr rear 3/4 view) there is a bottle assembly, I am guessing it is a petrol tank vapour trap ?

Just time to burn a little more petrol before dinner.

Aha, a little more history of the car revealed with the notes on the chassis!

If you haven't considered it already, fabricate something to mirror the air filter assembly or stick some rubber to the underside of the nearside wing to protect it from the stone impacts.

Love seeing them stripped down like this, really interesting to see - and useful for when I do mine laugh2

Does the final painted panel at the rear that houses the lights come off?

Good shout on the wing protection, I am wondering whether to use the raptor coat I used on the inside of the hard-top, as it bonds to it so no moisture can get in and sit.. seems pretty tough as well.
Only problem is when you do all four wings it starts to add up on the weight side of things, so perhaps some form of plastic guard would be a better option. read

Yes though never ended up as a demo.

What do you mean regarding the air filter?

Oh sorry i get you.

I’ll be sticking some panel bitumen stuff on all 4 arches to protect them.

great pictures Lee - really interesting/useful to see the panels stripped off like this thumbs

What is the overall plan :are you going for a full re-spray or just serious 'fettling' of the internals?

Good luck and keep up the pictorial record.....

James
