All being well what are your thought's. Will events resume after easter. On a personal note It think we will dust off our little tourer and do a bit more exploring of our beautiful country this year maybee a trip up to the Highlands might be on the cards. Many mog owners will be champing at the bit, whatever you do its gonna be a bit different.......Em

When I saw the title of this, I thought an award was being offered for the most impressive thread drift.

We are still planning to get through France and Portugal to Cape Finisterre in September, and less confidently to Paris in June. But first we have to be able to get to Worcestershire (including a hotel stay) to collect the new vehicle on Easter Saturday. That does look only 50/50.

I'm guessing UK only for us in 2021

My personal opinion is that after Easter, being the part of the "high risk" part of the population vaccinated, the number of hospitalizations and people killed due to Covid19 should be dramatically lower than now. And this said, I hope the borders will be fully reopen, and people will be free again to travel and enjoy our lives.

Maybe I'm too optimistic, but it’s how things should go if the vaccines work.

Cape Finisterre passing through Portugal? Why such a detour South? Just being curious...

The route is through France, along the Douro Valley, then clockwise via Fisterra to the Picos and back to the UK from Bilbao - the reverse direction to Ian Parkinson's planned convoy.

I'm looking forward to seeing friends and family. Under normal circumstances I'm usually away every other weekend seeing mates around the UK or off to Worcester to see the family. Really missing that.

Should the worst happen and random vaccine-resistant variants pop up requiring time for the vaccines to be re-jigged and administered we could see sporadic travel restrictions or border closures .... hopefully this won't happen.

First priority is to finish the rebuild of the car ... but, all being well, have re-booked the hotel in Braga, Portugal (free cancellation up to the day before) and will be driving the Morgan down and staying there for the 're-scheduled from 2020' European Hillclimb Masters in October.

It's got to be wait and see. We have a week booked in Cornwall in April, which is at a friends holiday bungalow in a remote location, but even that isn't certain yet. We can get there and back with one refuel, and take our own food, so the risk is minimal, but the number of infections and deaths and the local tier arrangements will influence whether we get there.

As I see it, if most people stay in the UK, it's going to be hard booking anywhere. Not only that, but gathering in pubs and other crowded venues will allow the virus to seek out the 5% who are not fully protected, so even when we have full adult vaccination, I suspect the numbers may blip upwards again.

So our initial plan is more days out in the Morgan.

If we manage the Highlands this year it will be autumn at the earliest. We may need to wait until 2022.

My God daughter's wedding in Perugia was cancelled last year - and is supposedly happening this year, in May. If it does, I shall drive down in the Morgan. But I would need to be vaccinated to do it.
