Sad to see this incredible venture in trouble again and seeking a buyer.

I am at the stage of my life when I find that some things that I used to be very enthusiastic about, I now see as a waste of time and money. Richard Noble/Andy Green already have the land speed record and the time for Bloodhound will be when that is beaten I would have thought. The land speed record itself is a bit off piste these days, with low-flying planes being the only competitors.
Age can make you cynical, I am finding, but I reckon I could find a better way of offloading £50mill.
I believe Andy Green is involved another low-flying land speed project with a goal of 1000MPH+ so Bloodhound is probably obsolete already.
Shame for the team though.

Even at my stage of life these trials of human endeavour and extreme engineering I find captivating, the work they have done in engaging youngsters into the sciences has been unparalleled, it all depends on how you view the importance of these projects personally of course.

It will be a sad day for me when the human race stops trying to raise the bar for no other reason than doing just that because they can and have the need to.

That's probably exactly how some of these projects get started.

When I visited the project at Avonmouth a few years ago, you could sponsor it and have your name on the tail piece. I see it has since had a paint job! I notice as well they are looking to develop an electric fuel pump. The version I saw at that time, the pump was powered with a Jaguar F type engine! (do not attempt this on a Morgan...it’ll probably run a bit rich!)

We went to see it years ago now at Brunel Quay Bristol in its own visitor centre, Being an old fuddy duddy I would rather see a re commisiond Bluebird do a sedate 150 mph on pendine sands, Is blood hound relavent in today's world an awfull lot of ordinary peoples money has gone into it over the years but I suppose that's not the point.......Em

All of these projects have a high percentage of crazy in them, just like dragsters they appeal to me..
