Hi
Does anyone know who can supply replacement stainless steel door hinge socket screws. Tried Heart of England but they only have slotted head.
Thanks

I think you might find it a bit tricky to get M6 CSK Cap screws in the correct length for the hinges. I replaced mine a few years ago and went for slotted heads simply because the place I buy my fasteners from (Namrick) could only supply max lengths of 70mm in capscrew format whereas they can do slotted screws up to 100mm.

But as I don't need to remove my doors very often (I think I've done it 3 times in 20 years) the idea of using slotted head screws didn't bother me.

I got mine from Accu - they have a good selection - but they are UNC - Morgan use Whitworths - but they still go in with a bit of persuasion. They do come out a bit proud of the hinge - but it does not seem to affect it. If it did it would be a simple job to countersink the holes in the hinges a tad more.

That's why I switched to metric, a bit smaller than the originals so fit in easier.

I use Westfield. They do a s/s M6 x 100mm countersunk set screw.
A good site and they do a range types of metric/ non metric sizes and have a dimensions guide for head diameter/ angle

¼" UNC x 2" stainless csk socket bolts available here, just scroll down list to select thread size and length.

The same 20 threads per inch as OE BSW door bolts but slightly different thread angle of 60° v 55° of BSW. They should fit OE nuts or you could change to matching UNC.

I think you need them a bit longer than 2" don't you? I just checked my order and it was for 70mm x M6 CSK, but it was back in 2018 and I honestly don't recall if I had to shorten them at all. I confess I always switch to metric fasteners wherever possible, it makes tooling easier, but I appreciate that some prefer to maintain original specs.

Two inch is the length from latest Classics parts book Tim but that assumes no mistakes wink

Follow up question. Does the screw go into a captive or caged nut. Just wondering how the screw is retained. Thanks for your feedback.
