It looks under the dash to me, standard motorsport battery isolator. Remove the red key to isolate.

Neat job, looks like factory fit.

Possibly I have an "electrical leak" somewhere. Only outstanding electrical issue is that the heated seats havent worked since I put the insides back together again last year... probably I should pull the fuse!

If it was cold, ie below about 5c then lithium batteries need to get warmed up first. Leave the headlights on for about a minute and prime the fuel two or three times. The starter may still churn for 20 -30 seconds before anything fires but it will get there.

If the engine has significant wet sumping then you'll need to drain some oil from the engine and put it back in the tank then all should be OK.

As Dab of Oppo observed, it is under the dash, near the steering column. Easily accessed when standing beside the car, or when sitting in the drivers seat. But pretty much invisible to the casual observer, especially when off or with the key removed.

BTW- my bonnet is center hinged, so getting underneath it would not be a chore at all.

I use a Varta 53030 30ah. It fits and has the same terminals as the Banner and does a good job but I do keep it on a conditioner when the car is in the garage.

Wilson how are you getting to France? You cannot take Lithium batteries through the tunnel unless fitted to a vehicle. Probably OK on a ferry but best check?

Thanks Steve, that switch install is exactly what i had in mind.

And i would it if you could post photos of your split bonnet and how you did it. Do you have a link?

Good tips Chris. Will try the headlight tip next time it happens (next Winter?). Never been able to drain much oil from the sump, and 8 secs max gets it firing after a spell of inactivity.

Thinking I might tackle the heated seat switches from underneath if there is room (mine has no plate under the propshaft, and I suspect road spray could have shorted the connections as I did not reapply the original generous covering of duct tape over the wiring!!!).

PaulIV,
My heated seat connector that takes the switch wires and connects them to the fuse panel area is under the fuse panel close to the battery. Darn hard to access.
