I did wonder about backlash and what might happen when things tighten up. Physics wise, I dont really quite understand what would happen ! My head says the gear ratio is so great that any tightness eventually would be negligible ?? Both banks of 50 gear are loose, in that there is no end to which the last gear is fixed. I can run my finger down the banks and each gear would I suppose find a new place to sit. I guessing anyone around long enough to hear or feel it tightening would simply run their finger up and down it a few times. I think :-)
