Hi Steve, I see your trouble about the indicator. Are you shure it‘s the indicator? A test is a simple DIY. You need: a glass of wine, cup of tea/coffee or a beer. comfort seat A screwdriver, a small spanner And a tool like this: https://www.louis.de/artikel/pruefl...1aa90&filter_article_number=10003022Undo the orange glas and the bulb. Have a drink. Switch on the hazard. Clip the tool at the chrome. Keep attention and hit the contact in the middle of the fibrewasher with the needle. The tool flashes? A problem with the spring in the indicator. No flash? Undo the nuts of the indicator in the wing. Pull the indicator out and out of the rubber gaiter. Now have a drink and think about LUCAS the god of Electric darkness. You see two „bullet connectors“ in loops. Use the tool. Clamp it to one loop and hit the other with the needle scrap a little. The tool flashes? The loops or bullets look worn?

No flash, bullets look worn/dirty/ rusty?
Clean them. Pull them out of the loop, pull the wire out of the loop.
Wires out of the bullets. Do the test again directly at the wires. The tool flashes?
Wonderful. Clean the loops, clean the bullets an fit again. Put the bulb in, it must flash.
If no flash at the wires. Short them and test again. No flash?
Look at the connector in the wing. Unconnect it. Test the connector from the car. Put a needle in one hole and cramp it with the tool. The other hole hit with the tools needle. The tool flashes?
Than the problem is in the connector or the wire to the indicator. The tool doesn‘t flash? The problem ist in the connector.
Usual Procedere in all british cars.

Instead of replacing the whole light unit, you could just make up some new fibre washers to fit the current lights. Push the wire through from the rear and the duff washer should be removable.

Hi Richard,
I’ll bow to your depth of knowledge on all things electrical but........
In addition to my bulb holder stamped L794/L795 it is also stamped L691/L692. The lense is stamped L794 with reflector and not a ring type refraction (is that right?) as shown above
My car is a 2006 build so have I misunderstood?
Regards
