John,

I saw your photo it is a splendid collection and I'll bet the price of his property went up instantly.

I can imagine the sound track, just glorious 30 cylinders all delivering love

Looks like you chose a good weather day.

Yes not too bad weather wise.
We had a 4/4, +4, a 3.7l roadster, 2 Brooklands and Madmax's +8 (not in the photo). So 34 cylinders of petrolicous noise.

Lovely picture John

Peter J you are correct. Batteries in cars is a no goer. Someone told me the other day that these batteries in these cars cannot be recycled.

I have not checked that. Of course a certain man with a lot of money is putting his weight behind batteries because he has put so much money into it!

It will follow the old Betamax video that all the people who want the latest gizmo will get the latest fad first.

The main problem with Hydrogen today is that most is produced using dirty energy. But that will change in time when we put vast amounts of money to crack it.

The day when we can use green energy to make Hydrogen is not too far off!

The problem with hydrogen in an ICE is the NOX emissions. Far better to use it in a fuel cell.

John, I agree, to a point: I think it depends on what you want form your vehicle. Almost all tin tops would be better as hydrogen fuelled electric cars, but the enthusiast / eccentric driver is likely to prefer an ICE motor, if only for the noise!
The NOx problem is no different to that in a petrol/diesel engined car and modern cats remove the NOx perfectly well. Should it be possible to have the Plus 8 convertrd to run on Hydrogen in the future I would go for it.

Slight digress but reading Mitsubishi have exited the European market after losing money for many years. Although a quick scan tells me this was reported last summer.

Yes they said that they will not continue to develop the engines for the ever more stringent emissions requirements and that revenues did not support the model anymore. Our trades people will be finding it difficult to get a decent choice on their posh-pickups shortly.

Mercedes dropped the X Class
VW talking about dropping the Amarok (or badging an F100)
Mitsu closing doors
Land Rover not making anything defender shaped right now.
Subaru not looking at the gap

So Toyota HiLux or Nissan Navara. Possibly a Ford Ranger?

Good news is that they will all make good tow cars for the Caterham.
