Oh dear, what a big fuss about weight and things. Estimated 0 to 60 is 4.5 secs. Isn't that fast enough? 500 Kg and a 2 liter torquey engine should be frugal too, I think the thread has developed into missing the point of this beauty. It is not high tech and I don't think it was ever intended to be, or it would be called the "EVA 3 wheeler" or "3 wheeler lifecar" and it would be radically different.

It's not about missing the point, it about MMC missing an opportunity to build a classic looking car with the advantages of modern material.
As far as torque is concerned, going on the figures published, 115lbs/ft doesn't strike me as being particularly strong for a 2 litre, in fact, it's decidedly average, although of course it may make peak torque at 1500rpm and hold it all the way to 5000rpm, in which case it is at least making the most of what it has got.

It is about missing the point.
If they used carbon fibre construction and a characterless, highly efficient engine it would be a completely different type of car. On top of that it would be outdated in short order as all modern cars are.
As it is - characterful engine, simple and quite basic construction that will be easy to maintain and repair and with a large element of fun thrown in.
The car concept is right on the money in my opinion.

in Belgium they say: the best captains are those standing on land, overlooking the harbour + another I've driven it and it works for me ... P.S. I also love the Triking, but that is a different animal again!

clip P.S. I also love the Triking, but that is a different animal again! I seriously considered a Triking, for obvious reasons, a few years back, but wanted something a bit more comfortable, and to tell the truth so did I. Actually I still have the brochures posted to me about 20 years ago! I think it a shame however that Morgan did not do a deal with Tony Divey (he is a Morgan 3 Wheeler fan of the old school). They could have bought a proven British design and then added the Morgan touch of wood and aluminium. I have to say that I prefer the new Morgan 3 shape to that of the Triking. I do think that the Guzzi engine would work well in this car. (but then I am biased, aren't I)
