I've just taken the doors off my '74 4/4 as hinge pins need replacing (not sourced any replacements yet. May have to cobble something together). They look like the original bolts holding the hinge to the A frame and were a pain to remove as they were slot headed. I seem to recall that someone on here (TBM?) replaced theirs with socket headed counterasunk bolts of the same thread. What thread would this be? It seems that the A pillars are also threaded(?) as the bolts could only be removed by "unwinding" them so I need the same thread.

Not replaced mine yet. I do have CSK Allen bolts and nuts holding my hinges on (I've given them a quick nip up)

Can you remember the size. Are they 1/4" UNC (2" for the A frame , 2 1/2 for the door)?

I tightened them with a metric allen key and a 10mm spanner, soI'd be inclined to say M6. Don't know the length - as i said, I just nipped them up.

I replaced mine with stainless csk m6 with nyloc nuts .... nice and easy to source and you know they'll come off again in future years.

The parts book even for latest models has them as ΒΌ" BSW.
