Well, I said I was going to Duxford today to get a dose of "Merlin Music"

And I was not disappointed.

Brilliant organisation, no traffic jams and great weather.

I think I've got enough to carry me through the winter now.

The more astute Spitfire spotters amongst you will however see an interloper amongst the Merlins but I'm not complaining.

Great shot, a Griffon is always a welcome interloper thumbs

I got my daily Merlin fix again with G-ILDA doing pleasure flights based in Exeter at present and a regular jaunt appears to be a run down the coast as far as Start Point and return which brings them over our house, sweet...

Made my Day!!

I wonder how many Spitfires it would be possible to get together in formation?
20+ I suspect in Europe!

Back in the mid 1940s such a sight and sound would be a daily occurrence over S E England...... now it would make me get excessively excited!

A couple of years back at Revival they did a 10 Spitfire scramble and that was good and they joined up with a couple of Hurricanes for a flypast, wonderful.

A few years back Sospan and myself went to Goodwood for an anniversary fly out . I think it was 29 +1 Mustang that they got in the air that day.

We were there it was a fantastic show of power, I can't find a vid of it though.
I know some had flown in from the States and Europe though, we walked around them afterwards.

I was there too, it was about 46 Spits a Hurrican and a Bristol Blenheim although not all in the air at once. Brilliant day, free entry. I don't suppose we will see that again.

Glorious !!

Ive always said to the misses. If we ever win BIG on the lottery I shall buy a large house with large flat field, build a hanger and buy a Spitfire. She says 'you cant fly' I say I dont care. Id just sit in it and taxy it around all day. LOL
