A sad loss. We attended a couple of his one man shows and he was very funny. He cancelled his tour a short time ago which was a bad sign.

Apparently there is going to be a public event to allow all his fans to show their appreciation.

Just time to bum a little more petrol before dinner.

I’m sure many of us on the forum have belly laughed at the tv when OFandH was on like many of the older sitcoms (porridge for eg) I miss them

Absolutely Kevin, no smut or swearing just sheer talent involved in the writing and performing - we miss them too.

HIGNFY and Would I lie to you are the only two comedy programs we watch now, the rest are dross to us. Radio 4 has some good humour still.

Yes OF&H remains saved on the hard disc of our PVR forever. I think we have pretty much all of it saved. The depth of the characters and the humour always seem more complete. As for smut, some of the jokes about Boyce, Dell and Marleeeeeen were funny. Then there was the episode with the exploding blow up dolls, crying at that one. How many other programs on mainstream TV would have got away with that back then?

Part of our fun roadtrip to Europe in the Coupe (several years ago now sadly) was a requirement to stay in the Hotel de Paris in Monaco so we could re-create the famous "run for it" moment in the OF&H episode where they went from millionaires to mortals. We did not need the stock market to crash to empty our wallets a few days in Monaco did the same job. As for running away trying to carefully cram the clothing into the surprisingly large boot and then bend ourselves into the tillet seats meant we would have been easy to catch!

Don't you mean "cwying"? That really did have me with tears rolling down my face.
