Down to Winchester last Sunday and back today. 250 miles in Autumnal sunshine. Met with friends in my "over 25 years old car" car club. CAAR GB. Final re-planning for our twice postponed Tour to Italian lakes and Sicily - May 2022. And early planning for a N. Ireland Tour in Sept 2022 and follow the Danube Tour for 2023.

Excellent trip to the Royal Oak in Laxfield, Suffolk for outdoor lunch in the sunshine with a couple of the Ipswich area gang following dog walk.

Two Mogs seen on the A143 during 30 mile return journey whilst heading west just south of Diss. A dark green Aero looking quite menacing loomed up behind before I turned off and a metallic silver/grey Classic seen briefly heading east. Anyone here?

Lunch with the usual suspects in Laxfield as described by Richard above , A lovely sunny day & so warm we sat outside without coats.
The road closure maze in Suffolk continues with a road that was open in the morning shut in the afternoon so a bit of a twisty route home.
The beer (Victoria from Earl Soham) and the food are excellent at this pub.

A great trip out to the Cat & Fiddle with DonMog. Tasting of their Gin and Whisky was limited by driving duties but a grand day out.

Great day out on Dartmoor, exploring some very narrow steep lanes, with great views (and a good lunch at a nice inn on the way). Walked up to Grimspound, a bronze age settlement with the remains of over 20 round houses and surrounding walls - a spectacular location, though what they did up there 5000 years ago, I have no idea - maybe early tin mines.

There are comparable settlements way north, and I wondered the same thing after visiting them .... it would appear that at the time the weather was milder and then these uplands were wooded with game and materials plentiful .... only now do we wonder how they lived in such bleak places .... just that they weren't bleak then.
