Worry about this one instead of car emissions maybe.. well it'll make a change from their last export the world is currently dealing with/attempting to contain..

A pointless technology, all it will do is produce a spend race.
We are not involved, or likely to be.
We can't even develop a new tank....

The hypersonic missile thing is going to cause a lot more tension. It's quite a step up in the nuclear arms race if the truth is to be believed. Russia and the US have already shown there versions.

If it makes you feel any better Peter the US have been trying to replace the Bradley IFV for even longer!

They are IFV's which in theory are the infantry carriers and smaller than tanks but having said that the usual bigger-is-better has been applied. 40-50 tonnes now. Ajax is being referred to as Banjax'd which is a popular slang term for SNAFU.
I love the "cannot move at top speed because of the NVH on the operators" do you think there is an M3W under there? Bevel box issues?

I love the line in the US video "with the addition of artificial intelligence". So many army jokes, so little time and fairness, I would not want to be on the other end of those things with the British Army driving them.

Just time to bum a little more petrol before dinner.

Back in the 70s we had to play the enemy Red Forces (Russian) to the Tankies on Salisbury Plain, they were using the ChieftainTank and our job was to harass and confuse them!! Being Commandos we never really went by the "rules", as the Americans found out to much dismay too, so in groups of four under cover of darkness (we lived in the dark my wife says I still do) we spread out across the Plain and set up our OPs. During the day we watched as the Tankies "hid" their tanks and went about making their brews, etc. quite often very close to our OPs. At night we moved in putting smoke grenades in the tracks of the Tanks and pulled back to watch. At Dawn the tanks started up, which by the way is the biggest give away to any concealed position, then they moved off to clouds of green, blue and red smoke; the Ruperts were not happy. For some reason we never played enemy to the Tankies again, having said that I would never want to face them or try to run away from them in anger.

Everybody laughed when it was announced a Space Force was being created but Hypersonic warfare is one of the threats that a unified Space Force will be combating as the countermeasures will primarily come from above rather than from the ground.

Oh yes it's very real and what better way to deliver the next SARS direct to your door..

All of a sudden the tales from my childhood in the Eagle comic are fast becoming reality.

If in the frame of mind to worry about anything, the latest wonder weapon might tend to attract one`s attention, but given the human race or at least part of it has had enough armaments to destroy the planet for many a year, or that Yellowstone might pop to much the same effect, and with all that the science recommends re global warming... Boy am I pleased that I can still enjoy that which I presently can and can make the best of it while I can..!

Britmog, my old pal was a WWII tank driver, an original Desert Rat, after that campaign he fought all the way up through Italy, and his tank took a hit while on a bridge crossing a river in Germany, Apparently he had flipped the lid opened knowing he was involved in the river crossing, and he thought the explosion blew him out of the tank, all he remembered was finding himself in the water and instinctively swimming for the shore where he lay for some days, until a troop of Yanks found him. Ended up with silver rods fastened into his lower left leg and a fair bit of tissue damage, not a pretty sight, but the surgeons did a grand job as he worked as a slater & plasterer for the rest of his life... He used to tell me " When I die, you get intae that leg wi a hack saw and cut that silver oot, I will no feel a thing. I just don`t want they Ba*t*rds up at the cremy tae get it.." Sad to say I never did the deed when that sad day arrived some years back.... They don`t make them like that any more... Salt of the earth.

BTW his son served in 45 Commando, though not a patch on his old man...
