Fingers crossed but it's been a long time since England won down under. I'm hoping that C4 show the highlights as I don't have BT Sport.

Here for a good time not a long time!!

Having seen the overnight result, I can confirm there were no highlights.

If you go to the sport tab on the BBC website they do have a video as to what went wrong.

Like I say, a good start by Australia (dare I say fantastic) but I want to see how well we bat while the weather may bring this first test to a draw.
The poms are better than what they have shown so far and I expect a fightback.....

I don't understand why England chose to bat, all the indications were that day one would be ideal for the bowlers.

England do not have a strong opening line up and Australia exploited this to the full with some excellent bowling.

I was at the Gabba the last time England played there (much the same story I'm afraid to say) very different ground from an English perspective but you do get a good view of all parts of the pitch.

My only complaint was that the beer on offer was awful and fairly expensive, getting up to prices charged at Lords.

Lets hope the rain stays away and England can have a better day bowling.

Bit of a masterclass from the Aussies on how to open an innings. We are in big trouble now.

I wonder why we can't find some strong, reliable opening bats. Our County scene is vibrant and produces good batsmen but when brought in to the national side it all seems to go pear shaped, a great shame.
