Bob.

Any greasing is better than none. However, with the wheels off the ground, more of the king pin is inside the hub, so arguably gets a more direct splash of grease.
I have fitted extenders to my top nipples which makes it really easy to apply a grease gun by simply bending over to access under the top of the wheel arch rather than crawling underneath, as both nipples feed the same grease gallery.
I grease every 500 miles and I only tend to use the wheel arch method when touring, for a quick squirt if I am going to be well over the 500 mark, to save crawling underneath in good clothes.

Bob.

Off the ground for me.

I would just echo that it has to be really to allow easy turning of wheels lock to lock to gain access to top nipples.

I now follow Cain's suggestion of an old sock to remove old excess grease from lower part of stub axle followed by a wipe of discs with brake cleaner.

I tend to do mine on the ground, and since I removed the bumpers, access is OK.

However, I'm not a big fan of rolling around in puddles and ice this time of year, so I'm tempted to fit a Wolf kit for the more inclement days that I need to regrease.

Off the ground for me. I have a pneumatic grease gun. I use a pry bar to raise the bronze plate on the hub and the grease gun is easier to trigger than a pump one. I watch for grease exiting under the raised plate. Greased at 1000 or nearest.
No signs of kingpin/bush wear after approaching 40k miles since I bought the car. Hard chrome kingpins. I went under the car at MOT with the tester last November. All looking ok but not as sparkly as Craig’s car.

These are my solution to the top nipple access, make it possible to do them without jacking when on a long continental tour

A lift makes it much more accessible to grease, I just go to Matty at Life's and get him to grease them, the Morgan always needs tinkering/fixing for something, so get Matty to grease at the same time, it takes just a matter of seconds with the car lifted and much less of a struggle with securing the grease gun on the nipple.

Fitted one side of the system, as took longer than I expected. Having a damper blade really made fitting the lower one really tricky.

When screwing in the lower swivel joint in place the nipple, when fully screwed, the top of the joint rubs against the bronze plate. Also very tedious trying to tighten the fitting with an open ended spanner. I had to inch it around a few mm at a time I installed it as seen in Craig jazz's photo as if it pointed upwards, then when the wheel turns, it would rub against the bronze plate as well.
