Ian .. you're right ... mind-skip ... assumed the pic showed both sides of the car ... I like the idea of the simplicity .. fine for a vehicle that's viewed purely as practical urban transport with no pretentions of style .... strikes me that some judicious tweeking of the mould would have allowed the same moulds to be used for the doors with just the hinges and catch being transposed to pre-cast positions for 'handedness' ... giving conventional opening doors on both sides ... can see something like this as an EV with 100 miles range and 60 mph cruising solving a lot of problems in the outer urban fringes etc as a 'get you to the station' travel pod.

I always assumed that C&SC came from the merger of two previous magazines.

I seem to recall the C&SC was the rebranded "Old Motor", which was a much more interesting read.

A Google search suggests that isn't what happened. Maybe Old Motor became Thoroughbred & Classic Cars.

I remember reading the final Old Motor, and wondering why they needed a rebrand.
