A few days ago I hat a look at the EVO (magazine) video CX-T on track and found a different looking maplight.

With the help of Jack & Jill http://www.talkmorgan.com/ubbthreads.php/topics/730011/which-map-light-in-the-cx-t#Post730011
I found it.

Have a look here, a lot of nice stuff:

http://www.grayston.biz/catalog.pdf

Now I collect the lamp at a German dealer and look forward to fit it.

And: where do you prefer to connect it?

Idea 1) cigarette lighter/ power socket

Idea 2) radio powercable

Rene,
Useful looking catalogue, many thanks for sharing.

I wired my map light into the instrument panel lights, my reasoning being will only use map light after dark and less likely to leave on accidentally.
As I had changed the instrument bulbs (and map light) to LEDs, load on wiring will still be less than standard.

Regards

Jack

As a navigator on night rally events, they were next to useless.

The long stalk meant that the beam danced about every where other than the map or my pace notes.

Wasn't much good for plotting a route from the handout onto the map either as not enough light to illuminate the handout and the map

About the only thing it was good for was for was illuminating the time cards so the marshal knew where he was signing

Wired mine from a switch on the dash panel so either the driver or navigator could operate it - very handy when coming into a control sideways, trying to sort out the time cards, maps etc

Hello Jack,

it‘s a little bit difficult… when I‘m right the instruments where lighting up when the key is in.

So it‘s more on the radioside?

Thank you for this point!

But the light is more for touristic use. We collect the MOG in late November 2018 in Britain and get lost some times.

The nav wasn‘t helpful, a real map was first choice. Another time I lost my Portemonnaie… after payed a toll for a bridge.
Payed by my wife. After a lot of time we found it in the legroom of the MOG.

I think in this points of use the maplight would be nice.

I've fitted one of these .... Lucas rear numberplate light (L534 I think) .... bolts neatly through the dash with a couple of countersunk stainless bolts .... angled so the chrome cowl shines the light away from the driver and onto the passenger's lap .... switch for it in the side of the glove box ... use the original bulb or an LED for more light if needed....neat and classic looking. .... and cheap as they're now made as repo.
