A friend of mine had that and they fixed it with ultrasonics and the relief was instant..

The Frost kit looks very well made.

I must be missing something but always thought wheels were best balanced in their vertical orientation rather than horizontal?

What’s the spin on this ?

I did wonder but it's a well thought out design.

Well static is said to only work well on narrow rims. I believe that professional static kits do mount the wheel vertically, and work by looking at which part of the tyre stops at the bottom after rotation.
But in balancing a wheel in the horizontal plane, it wouldn't then have a heavy spot if mounted vertically. Maybe I'm over simplifying the physics, but for me this has worked.

Good result Dave, I suspect you need to check for a perfectly level / flat floor where you place the base

I suspect the needle point the spring loaded mechanism sits on takes account of that Jon, within limits at least.

The more level the floor is helps but if level isn't achievable the 3 screws around the bubble can be adjusted to get a true level.
