Interesting that Laco is not a copy! of the IWC Pilot. I just found this page, which you can translate with Google or deepl.com. The design was given by the German Luftwaffe and five different manufacturers made these watches, including IWC and Laco. More can be found in the article. https://www.watchtime.net/uhren-wissen/5-fakten-ueber-laco/

I wreck mechanical movement watches, timing goes out on them after around 6 months so I rarely pay more than £150 for a reasonable (to me) watch Odd this tie up I have the 2005 swatch the Moonscope It didn't attract the madness this latest one did, I quite like Swatchs offerings, but my day to day now is a Titanium Waveceptor from Casio it sets itself and is solar powered a lot lighter than the Swatch ![[Linked Image]](https://www.casio-europe.com/resource/images/watch/zoom/LCW-M100TSE-1AER.jpg)

I just ordered my third CW watch. The movement is a well known and widely used Swiss model. The cases are very nice and to cut a long story short you get a lot of watch for your money. I particularly like how easy it is to change the straps (I have 6 for 3 watches!)and have no complaints.

I tried to buy a CW Aero model from them at Salon Prive last year but they just didn't call me back over the three days I was there with work on a stand.I have a few technical watches and in particular I have an IWC Portofino Chronograph on a Milanese bracelet which is similar to some of the CW models. I have recently been thinking about selling it and have been offered £3,250 from WatchFinder, although have not accepted their offer as yet. If anyone is interested at this figure then PM me. It is in excellent condition with box and papers from when I purchased it new about 3 to 4 years ago. https://www.iwc.com/gb/en/watch-collections/portofino/iw391030-portofino-chronograph.html

Sorry, I did Laco wrong, I confused the series of pilot watches Original with the series Basic. I would like to correct myself.

Watches, just like cars there is one for every price bracket and one to fill every desire. I have a collection of 12 mechanical watches, all limited editions and mainly by companies that fly under the radar ( Panerai being the exception ) The rarest is a Morgan tribute 1 of 1 made especially for me by Garrick using the same leather as the interior for the strap and the same paint on the dial face as the bodywork. It was featured in a magazine article about the company and I have to say is a total joy to own. Having said all that, when I go sailing I use a watch that came with a magazine for £3.99 which is cheaper than a replacement battery.
Here for a good time not a long time!! Reg
