Today, Sunday was a glorious day, so we took Tarka and drove out into the New Forest for a run down to Fritham Pond for a walk.... This is some of the countryside this morning from our walk: simply idyllic... We then drove on to a pub, the Cuckoo at Hamptworth which has reopened after a long covid shutdown and with new owners. https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Resta...oo_Inn-Hamptworth_Wiltshire_England.html Sitting outside together, with a beer and a plate of nachos and dips, reminded us exactly what the Morgan is all about...enjoying the countryside. Yes, driving without brake lights may be unwise, but if you don't need to brake, who knows and if there is no one behind, who cares? I've rigged up an alternative brake light switch, which works well enough.... Peter, 66, my 2016 Porsche Boxster S Tarka 2014 Plus 8....Off the road, since March!

After "much ado" I discovered the pedal-operated switch had shifted out of position, and to be on the safe side I ordered a new one from Melvyn (which arrived in less than 24 hours, thanks !). But now the rear fog light has given-up the ghost, and I'm meticulously going through every wire/connector to sort this. I am really lost for words as to how exposed the wiring is to mud/crud/oil. And for the record, the switch as supplied by M.R. is an APEM 1212C, apparently they are also used in e.g. clay pigeon releases; they are available online and probably much less expensive too. They way that plastic is just snapped off to get clearance for connections on the OE one is just nasty Jon M

I had the guy behind me jump out of his car at a junction and come to me just after we’d descended a steep hill into Wantage - ‘your brake lights aren’t working mate!”. I replied they are are and dabbed the brake pedal to show him, with the engine braking of a V8 you don’t always need brakes… Mike H 2000 Plus 8

The Sunday was planned for a lunch at the Bull i’Thorn with DonMog and TorMog. We set off in convoy. It wasn’t until we were nearly at the pub that I realised that I had not used the brakes since we had left Ashbourne. Dad had a Skoda Fabia at the time and didn’t hang about.
