My office used to overlook the Medway and I regularly saw her doing pleasure cruises from Thunderbolt Pier in Chatham Historic Dockyard. We did have her down to do pleasure trips during MOG13 when it was held in Canterbury, but she was moved back to the Dart before MOG13 took place.

She is a lovely old thing and the sound of the paddles and the boiler are really nice when she is under way, she is a very popular feature of the river.

We had the Waverley based in Swansea that did Bristol Channel routes and pleasure cruises. Just did a search and she’s still going strong. https://waverleyexcursions.co.uk/ Hmmmm maybe not the same ship as the Swansea one! Further reading says she did a stint in the Bristol Channel so perhaps she is the one.
For those with any interest in paddle steamers.. There is a ink below. I sailed on the Waverley out of Oban, and round the Island of Staffa, where Waverley stopped for long enough adjacent to Fingal`s cave to play Mendelssohn`s Hebridean overture on the ships loudspeaker system. I have had the good fortune to sail to Staffa and walk into Fingal`s cave on a couple of occasions..Quite special.
