So, the car has a 5 speed gearbox, but still has the original 4 speed knob. Any suggestions for sources for replacements? I don't need one with a shift pattern on it because I've got that figured out (HA!!), but one with the Morgan emblem, or a wooden one to match the mahogany dash and steering wheel would be nice. Thoughts?

I had this one turned up by a mate with a wood lathe (wood turners love the chance to turn up something other than yet another wooden bowl) ... African Blackwood with Boxwood and Walnut inlay. Used the threaded insert out of the old plastic knob epoxied into this one.

Tasteful. Holden Classics should do one.

Richbrook are the OEM. They do a range of plain topped knobs as well shift patterns at a very reasonable price.

Neither Holden nor Richbrook have wood knobs, only aluminum. I have a lathe, so I'll probably just do one myself. I'd prefer one with the Morgan wings, though...

I had a well worn 4 speed gear knob left over from one of my Ford Escort rally cars, so well worn in fact, the markings on the top had worn away .

So I used that and tell you what it doesn't half confuse the rivet counters.

Having said that, Ian Cummings of Charlesworth Moulding is an absolute gent and has now owns the Plus 4 Super Sports his family bought new in the 1960's
