While my brakes feel fine, given Monty hads seen very little use over the last few years before I took him on I feel it's prudent to complete some general 'safety first' brake maintenance ASAP, it made sense to me to use my brake service opportunity to upgrade the pads and hoses when I'll also be refreshing the fluid that I suspect hasnt been changed for years

Monty runs Caparo callipers so I purchased a pin & clip kit from Brands Hatch Morgan for £23.08 delivered which seemed reasonable, I also found a set of new old stock Ferodo DS2500 (FRP1079H) pads for £43 on eBay, so happy with that, however, to complete my parts collection I'm now looking for a set of braided brake hoses.

Can someone point me to s set of PTFE braided brake hoses for my 2012 Caparo caliper equiped Duratec Plus 4?

I got mine here as they are local to me Goodridge the manufacturer and you can chose your colour, it is possible to pay more for them...

Whilst fitting brake hoses have you considered painting calipers Dave? It was a no brainer for me to choose red as have others. Used high temp caliper paint and heat resistant fresh stickers lacquered in.



They still look good three years on.

Where did you get the stickers from Richard, they look great?

Often wondered, do the callipers get that hot to warrant high temperature resistant paint?

In the past I've used a standard silver aerosol on calipers. The heat generated on the fronts turns the silver into a pale gold, but the rears don't discolour.

I've never bothered with proper caliper paint, although our Polo came with red calipers as standard, but they soon get dirty in daily use.
