If wire wheels I'd suspect the adapter plate between wheel and hub.

Foggy memory, but do I recall a post once about the holes in the adaptor plate being too big for the studs?

Just did a search:
Post #716285 31/08/2021 Oakmere Morgan said that the adaptor plates had holes too big and needed to be sleeved to reduce the clonking.

When they had removed the wings for the first radiator change
They have found lot of lose bolts and screws moving in the car.
