See below photos and video of a bygone age, The East Anglia Transport museum have a selection of trams, trolley buses running on a small circuit within the museum grounds.

Photos etc from an early reccie of the venue for up and coming planned folkmog event on 18th September 2022

Also in the museum is a number of vintage shops and garages a great day out.

It is very surprising the speed and acceleration from these early electric trolley buses and trams

Good I know numbers are down so the more members going the better. There will be a 'siding' where the cars will be parked and be a great photo opportunity, particularly if you can get a tram or trolley bus in the photo....perhaps it could make an ideal report for miscellany!

Remember Hull city centre in the 50's with the conductor of trolley bus with his long wooden pole re-attaching a pickup boom that had dropped off. Must have been a regular occurrence as the memory is still vivid.

I remember them well, especially in Wolverhampton, started operating on 29 October 1923, the system was one of the most extensive trolleybus systems in the United Kingdom, with a total of 14 routes, and a maximum fleet of 173 trolleybuses. For a brief period in the 1930s, it even had the distinction of being the world's largest trolleybus system. It was closed on 5 March 1967. They also closed down the tramways, only to reopen them again about 20 years ago, Used to be great at night watching the sparks off the wires as the trolleybus progressed down the road.

Good day out with FolkMog. Lunch is arranged after the visit at the Waveney House Hotel.
You need to contact the organisers for times and a menu choice.

I don't remember trams as the last one ran from Woolwich to New Cross through Greenwich a couple of months before I was born. I do however remember Trolley Buses running through Woolwich and still seeing the tramlines in the cobbled market square.
