Thanks BM, that's the one on mine. (Middle item with the screw thingy) I'll look out and get a spare now for the shelf. Phil Hello Phil Please note that for some LR models there are switch units where the center part with the turn signal reset is different. The best way to recognize it is by the two round plastic holders into which the lower steering column cover is screwed. In my picture you see this two round plastic parts at the bottom of the picture - the new LR part. I hope this explanation is understandable..... Bernd

Or, if one remembers reading Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance... It's Tim isn't it....?Much better gentlemen. This thread became an example of the collegiate format. Much more productive and safer for all concerned. Its all up on gomog, not a perfect source but even I use it. I have gone through five of these thingies with my trads. I kept the broken ones but have yet to find a use for them Definitely a weak point. However, the part number that most are using is a minor variant of that listed here. Lucas SQB119. The Lucas people lists them being used on the AC 3000 ME, 1979 to 1985, the Triumph Dolomite (all),1976 to 1981 . the Triumph Dolomite Sprint, 1973 to 1981 and the Triumph 2000 2500, 1975 to 1976 though there are many very similar controls Lucas hey made used on other vehicle. They are merely not exactly what Morgan used. If one googles "Lucas SQB119" one will find many sources I haven't had a problem yet. Here is one available from a search I did 2 minutes ago. I assume it is wanted in the UK, right? Of course, the prices vary wildly. I have not always been required to bend the fragile stalk. I broke the first one 25 years ago, and learned to use a tube bender since. They cost a mere 10 quid and you will find you will inevitably use it more than once. https://amzn.to/3THtd22 or https://www.flexolite.co.uk/products/sqb119-indicator-switch-for-morgan-triumph-sqb119 or or https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/232450675596 Melvyn sells them (he calls them ELS087) he pre-bends them for you. Lastly 21 years of Morgan trad friends will adore you when you lend the bender to them or spend the 10 seconds necessary to help the. The other stalk control it mates to, (the windscreen wiper one...) fails less but it is another story. Please note Arwyn's caution about tightening the holding screwsI always have one in spares, for two reasons. 1. They will fail without warning, and 2. eventually supply might dry up and I might need a bit of time to source a replacement. Actually, I have mused that the entire column is less than stellar, (their collapsible feature breaks and their control stalks are neither great nor good looking. I have been lazily investigating replacement options, most of which come with any choice of column controls one could want including a tilt feature that does away with the need for he Long Doors' pushed forward dash and creates even more steering wheel clearance for larger Morgan tummies. The stalks are metal. L Firstly I apologise for contributing to the proliferation of a thread in the wrong section. But with regard to the new SQB119 switches I found them to be of an inferior quality compared to the original Lucas swiches, and that's not saying a lot. In an attempt to solve this problem I decided to rework an original indicator switch. Firstly I dismantled the afore mentioned switch and enlarged the central hole, in the switch base in which the switchgear rotates, and fitted a bush made of Peek which reduced the hole size to give close transition fit for the switchgear pin. I then modified the indicator arm detent arrangement, which I have always found to be not very positive due to the friction created when the detent rides up out of the centre knotch, this I achieved by machining a slot through the centre of the knotch and fitting two small rollers that rotate as the detent rides up out of the off position and passes over the crest of the roller to give location to the left and right switch positions Also as the switch was dismantled I extracted the indicator arm from its base, removed its sleeving and formed the arm in a tight S bend, then replaced the original sleeving with heatshrink. The re-worked switch has now been fitted to my car for 18 months, its function has been as I hoped, positive and problem free. However I have fitted relays so I don't have to do the job again. If you find my description unclear, I will try to post some images(if I can find them)

Sounds like an excellent improvement Owen. Whilst I no longer own an 80’s car, I am sure there are lots of folks who would appreciate pictures if you are able to find them.

I hope this explanation is understandable..... Bernd, this doesn’t have the slip ring contact but are you able to confirm if this is the correct version please?

Hello Roger I'm happy to help! As I sometimes have to work with a translation programme, I hope my explanation is understandable... Are you looking for the complete switch unit with the centre section or just the stalks? I have just noticed that there are middle parts (switch holders) that look identical from above, but have a different looking plug holder on the underside. The levers in your picture look right... Unfortunately, I can't see the number on the levers in your E..y picture. If it helps, I could try to read the numbers on my old (modified) "defective" switch unit. Feel free to tell me what information you need! Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)

I have this switch that is in nice condition. I’m wondering if it’s the correct one to keep as a spare? ![[Linked Image]](https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/ylar0i05gfydej4/indicatorswirch2.jpg)

Hi Roger, Thank you for the clearly undeserved compliment on my knowledge of English. Unfortunately, I often have to use translation programmes to find the "right" formulations. As you know, English is not my mother tongue and school was a long time ago. Therefore it is not easy and time consuming for me to read AND understand posts or to write posts. So don't hesitate to tell me if phrases are "wrong" or unclear. I would like to be understood To your question: Here are photos of my original switch unit as I removed it. As I wrote, this unit was modified, i.e. fitted with different levers. I gave Morgan-Park another used complete unit in exchange for a complete switch unit modified by Morgan-Park. In my 1st photo the part number of the centre section (housing) of the switch around the steering column. Apparently there are 2 versions with the same part number but matching mounts for the levers. The actual switches/levers are screwed into this centre part. On the 2nd and 3rd picture you can see my complete (old) switch unit photographed from two angles. Do you have 4 (in one row) or 7 contact pins (in two rows) on the indicator side? It looks right to me if you also have 7 connections there! I hope that helps. Feel free to ask if you want more informations! ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2022/11/06/Gehausenummer.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2022/11/06/Gehause-unten-1.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2022/11/06/Gehause-unten-2.jpg)

However I have fitted relays so I don't have to do the job again. The halogen bulbs upgrade killed my indicator switch, so fitted relays too. As said above, the earlier Mogs have a different indicator switch, but my Ausitn Mini Mk3 one has been fine for the last 4 years so I'm assuming the relays have done the trick.

Thank you again Bernd. Very helpful! Your explanation and photos were perfect. I’m convinced now that it is the same item so will keep it for my spares stash. Yes there are 7 contacts but I see 2 were hiding in my photo. These items will become harder to get hold of as time goes by, the donor vehicles are beginning to disappear now. It’s nice to have spares for the critical items, particularly the harder to fix electrical items.
