Well, as it happens I do have s type 9, surplus to requirements, and not too far from you either, just down the road near Taunton. How's that for luck?
It was a new gearbox, but now with 2000 miles and was mated to a Zetec engine, so should just bolt on to your x/f. It actually comes with an aftermarket hydraulic clutch, but that doesn't have to be used if you want to retain the original cable actuated clutch. I believe I may also have a cast iron bell housing somewhere too. It has standard ratios, but I would suggest that whatever gearbox you buy, you have it uprated to a long 1st and 2nd, it makes such a difference. It is quite expensive, but well worth it in the end.
I estimate that it is probably worth about £750 ono.
PM me if you are interested and want to come down and see it.
Paul.
